It all depends on how its been treated.
My mk3 lemans has nearly 190,000 miles on it.
It had a full rebuild 20 years ago at 115,000 miles.
This was mainly to excise the previous owners abuse and the friday afternoon before a holiday build quality and the possibility the odometer had already gone round once (128,000km instead of 28,000km, it was 3 years old when I got it)
Its been very reliable since the rebuild in 1995.
So looking at the photos, you have a very well cared for example on offer.
If it was downunder the price is about the going rate.

Interesting that it has a cramp buster built into the throttle grip.  I haven't seen that available for other models before...anyone have an idea if such a setup would be available for a Norge.  I love the cramp buster, takes all the tension out of the wrist.

Probably get myself banned from the 'club' for being audacious enough to ask Why that bike isn't 'worth' something near the asking price?
I think it is beautiful. If it is mechanically as sound as the detailing suggests it is... 8k seems a reasonable price.
Admittedly detailing is often a beautiful lie. I'm not in the market for that machine so 'lie away' ... were I interested I'd be asking for compression tests and such.
Personally, I don't equate vintage with value; otherwise, as an old bugger, I'm in the dumpster.

I guess the Market will eventually determine what this bike is "worth" like it always does.  Having done several meticulous restoration projects myself, I'd wager a bottle of good Amarone that he has more than $8500 in it. 

This doesn't look like a "lipstick on a pig" quick flip job, it looks like one man's vision of a damn good Guzzi.

Tonti frame Guzzi's save for the Lemans and 1000s just do not bring a lot of money. Most on the T's and T3's in good running condition w/ updated cylinders hover in the 3 to 5K range. Tarting them up only adds to the build cost and doesn't do much if anything for ROI when you go to sell.

I just sold a bike that had 19,658 miles on it.   I stopped riding it until it sold, because I didn't want to roll that first digit over to a 2.   Yes, there is a psychology behind it.

The local Market has deeper pockets, so there is a better chance of him getting his price. Nice bike, I hope he gets the number.

Looking at the pics and description, I really like what has been done to this bike.  Mods are tasteful, and clean in design.  Not coming across as a hacked up, steam punked, cafe' racer.  This is truly a bike that I would spend some time looking at and enjoying if I saw it at a bike night or other gathering of motorcycles.  I personally think the bike design flows very nice and will give credit that the parts to get tit to this state didn't come cheap, bur appear well thought out.

I don't think the price is that out of line for what's there, if you're looking for a 40 year old vintage customized bike that you can actually ride.  Hopefully the cylinders have been done if it had chrome bores, but with the attention to other details I can't imagine they were not.

That bike has been done well enough that it could be featured on a website like BikeEXIF or Pipeburn, if he gets in there then he'll get that price no matter what.

Custom builds usually don't go for any worthwhile money because there are too many people who don't bother doing things right. But when something looks this perfect... I'd buy that almost eyes closed.

I'm sure most of us here would price a bike for sale with a little "cushion" no matter what he asks, someone will try to beat him down in price a little.
