New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
With all due respect, good luck on finding someone paying 7.5k for a1200 guzzi. Not saying it doesn't worth it but finding a buyer is a whole different thing.and i don't get why would u sell your bike for a breva, aren't they pretty similar?
I'm thinking of selling the Sport and trading down for the 1100. I'm sure I'm going to hear it, so go for it...
I have a red 08 Sport with just over 8K miles on her. She's mint and has color matched Norge hard bags, Mistral CF pipe, Mana bars, adjustable pegs, bar end weights/helmet locks, CG rear tire hugger, new battery and new Michelin Road 4 tires. I really only put on about 5K miles a year as I have another bike. I just got her fully serviced as well. Is $7500 out of the question?I have the opportunity to buy a black 06 1100 Breva with the reddish brown seat. This one has color matched hard bags (the smaller ones), MG tank bra/bag and MG clear tall windshield. The story goes that he bought it brand new, rode the long way home, dumped it in his driveway, and then it's been sitting in his heated garage ever since. The damage is: scratches on the right side - windshield, lower windshield bolt, bar end, mirror, silver tank trim, engine case cover, brake pedal bent in and scratched frame, passenger peg mount. Otherwise, nothing else. Has 50 miles on the clock.I'm thinking of selling the Sport and trading down for the 1100. I absolutely loved my 1200 Sport - everything except the tight quarters. I lowered the footpegs and bought it with a higher Renthal bar - next would have been seat mods but then I was changing the riding position too much. I listed mine for $7200 (with matching Norge bags, heated grips, new PR3s, new brake pads, complete maintenance, no scratches, and 9500 miles). Lots of online interest but only one serious buyer. Sold it last September for $6500 after six weeks. No way would I downgrade to a B11 - if the 1200 Sport fit me better, I'd be paying a premium to try to get a 8V Rossa in from Oz or the UK. Keep the 1200 Sport!
Be careful what you wish for the 8V Sport eats it's cams worse than other models. An immediate roller cam conversion is required. My local dealer offered to sell me a new one on the basis a warranty claim was made even before I rode the bike. The factory has only two left which are still on flat tappets and are effectively unsold old stock no more are being produced.Buying used can be tricky. Any warranty work is honoured only with a full service history . Some of these bikes may have had more than one cam failure so the engine would needed to have been throughly cleaned each time. Dealers are still asking good prices hoping punters are not switched on to the cam issues.
Question for Steve Ono who started this thread. The photos (using the photobucket link) the first pic looks like carbon fiber replacement (or cover?) over the horizontal chrome (plastic) strips on both sides of the front lower section of fuel tank just above the cylinder heads. The Breva styling part that I personally have always found annoying. I believe I've read where some owners have painted them black, but the carbon fiber looks great. Are they on the bike now? In the other photos the same part looks like the stock pieces again. So, please tell us more?
