V7 Classic - Bar End Mirrors
« on: April 03, 2014, 06:44:31 AM »
I've found the stock mirrors on the V7 to be pretty useless. I end up seeing more shoulder than road

As a result, Id like to get a set of foldable bar end mirrors. Are there any sets where I can keep my bar end weights, or that include bar end weights?

just install a longer 6mm bolt to hold on both the mirror and the end weight

+1.
I have CRG's on my V11 Sport, and Cycle Gear's version of them on my V7C. They both work really well. Avoid the very cheap ones on ebay-I wasted money on them.

I drilled the plugs out and went with cheap folding bar end mirrors.

I could not figure out how to secure my CRG Arrow mirrors without changing the bar ends.  I went with Rhino Moto bar ends that worked quite well.

That's what I did. I just sandwiched the bar end mirrors in between the bar end weights and the handlebars.

Pick up some rhino motors and some crg lane splitters. http://www.e-securedsite.com/RHINOMOTO/store/myProducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=4%7CBarend%20Sliders%20and%20Mirrors&productID=243&showDetail=1&categoryID=31|Aprilia%20Barend%20Sliders&vendoridtodisplay=0&filterFor=&collection=4%7CBarend%20Sliders%20and%20Mirrors

Thanks for feedback. The Rhino mirror mounts are described as "specifically designed to fit Guzzi clip-ons" however they have M6 bolts, my Special has M5 bolts. A new bar might be better, I could go for a slightly more forward lean anyway. Of course the footpegs on the V7 are slightly more forward than one would expect on a "standard" so any lean change from a new bar will need to be carefully considered. I assume the footpegs on the Racer are more rearset.
