I have two projects that require some good glue and looking for some recommendations.

1) The first type is to glue the rubber floorboard mats to the metal floorboards.

2) The other glue type I need is to glue the seat cover to the seat pan. This is the original seat cover and original metal pan but some of the factory glued areas at the edges under the seat are coming apart. There have been gluing-attempts by the previous owner, but they weren't successful.

These are for my G5.

I'm thinking something industrial of some sort, but all I've got at home is flavored Elmer's glue .... (just kidding ~;)

You can't go wrong with that stuff. If it work on airliner door seals, it'll work in your application.

For (1), weatherstrip glue (I got some from NAPA) works well, may work for (2) also.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to try the Pliobend Charlie is suggesting. Seems to have great reviews, and they have it at the local ACE hardware.

Is this the same? Says LV...

3M Super77 spray adheasive. I works to keep the fiber lid gasket on my Big Green Egg. It has seen several hundred heat/cool cycles and keeps on sticking.

This is what I was recommending. One minor advantage of this over Pliobond (at least for floorboards) is that the weather strip stuff is black.

Good point. I think I'll use that for the floorboards then and the Pliobond for the seat. Can never have enough glue around the house, especially when it's also used recreationally.. (just kidding again ~;)

I like "Fantastic Goop", or "Shoe Goo" which I've used to bond rubber soles to leather soled riding boots for better purchase on the tarmac, and to seal around the Stones' spoke nipples when doing tubeless conversions. This is the toughest adhesive I've ever tried and I've tried lots of them.

I have tried a lot of different ones, but the one that sticks in my mind ( :D ) is Laminex 440T contact adhesive. Good enough to have a hot saucepan placed on the kitchen bench without lifting.
It is a horrid yellow colour ( color ), but it will bond Poo to a blanket ;-T
Try local kitchen cabinet workshops ?

It's all the same stuff- contact cement. All the suggestions would work fine.

That does bring up another point. Some of them do not label the correct way to apply a contact adhesive.

apply...wait 2 to 10 min....clamp pieces together...I like to use a hard roller along the surfaces to make sure they are 'seated' properly

make sure you have them where you want them cause they will stick where they touch! :)

The 3m 77comes in a tube and a spray. I like the spray for big surfaces. I use if to stick the foam layers of a seat together and to stick the foam to the seat pan. I tack the seat cover onto the foam with it too, but sparingly in case I need to repair it.

I put a closed foam insulation on the inside of my boat hull with the 77 spray. It has stood up to temp cycles, moisture and freezing, day-to-day abuse and vibration just fine. I'll be using it to carpet the inside of my storage compartments on the trike, too.

E6000 is more of a sealer (calk) than an adhesive. We use it to join bulkheads and make weathertight joints -- not so much for a glue.

A very good SEALER adhesive is 5200. I seal my boat's top house-to-hull joint (about running 35') with it and reseal ~7 years. You can cut out a bad foot of the stuff and repair the bead with a good bond between the new and old stuff.
