Eldo with Memphis Shades Batwing
« on: April 07, 2015, 05:45:18 PM »
Has anyone installed a Memphis shades Batwing fairing on a Eldo? I had the Fairing given to me and have the grand idea of putting it in my eldo. Holding it in place looks like it should be some easy fab work to make it happen. So I ordered some windshield brackets from the fine folks at Harpers and hopefully shimming some of the little things the fairing mount on.

DON'T DO IT , PLEASE ! One of our local guys put a Bat wing on a Guzzi , it sent him to the dark side , we never see him anymore . Don't risk it .

That will look great, and work ok too. You're gonna get some buffeting of course

Dusty I started out more or less on the dark side and somehow found my way out of that pit. Plus I could really give 2 shits what most people think. I personally like the look of the Batwings and think she'll look quite nice with the Dan Brown saddlebags I purchased from another board member, hopefully they will be headed my way soon.

Andy I may contact you but 1st I'm going to see what I can pull off. Thank you very much for the offer.

As for buffeting it will just remind me of my CalVin that I dearly love, taller windshield and all.

I forgot the  ;D . Actually , yes batwings are nice looking fairings . Just design a vent , that will stop the BW from being a turbulence generator , even the MoCo figured that out .

Four weeks, Craig.  The DT100 has a front disk now.   :)

Dusty my comment on not giving a shit wasn't directed at you or any other board member, just the general knuckleheads on the road. But if you get out of line I'll have stormtruck straighten you up at Cedar Vale. Lol

Jim I'm hoping to bring the Eldo this year, might bring the CalVin and Chickencock is bringing her V7, God help us all. She just got her license and I've seen her ride it about 200 yards. No need to tell me, I fear for her safety.

I think the only two stroker that's going to make the trip is my 2-stroke Enduro. 2001 GasGas Pampera 250. It's a unique bike, small Enduro with a trials engine with different trans and street legal. Might also bring a 1975 Suzuki RV125 with 80 original miles and 99.5% mint! I need a bigger trailer!
I'm hoping you bring some of your lovely home brew I had a year or two back!

I'll have the little "Corny Keg" with something decent in it, and a few bottles of some other home brew.  We should do a medium length ride with you and CC and my roommate Buddy.  He is a cautious rider, so the pace would be safe, for CC.  Funny you'd say the 250 is small... I thought my DT100 was in that category.   :D

Buddy is a great guy and yes a very reserved rider so that's a excellent idea. My buddy Dofin will go along with and he's happiest when I slow down a bit anyways.
The GasGas is about the same size as my 1975 DT175 so for a modern Enduro it is kinda small especially with me on it.
I'm so freaking busy right now I need to find time to get things ready and will enjoy the time away.
