Three more 'C' Kits! :thumb:

One of the few advantages of having bought my own kit pre-emptively, then getting one when my bike did its top end and then having it shred its bottom end as well as Ralf's bike having done the same is that I effectively have three kits on hand! That means that the bikes that these kits were ordered for are all already back on the road! With these three I can clear most of the backlog of deaders in the shop next week even though the kits for them may be weeks/months away!

Only downside is that I've already got another two deaders lined up next week so the process has to start all over again. So far in most cases that need a 'C' kit though I've been able to keep wait times down. The last 'D' kit I needed turned up relatively quickly too. It seems to be the 'A' and 'B' kits that take longest which is weird as they actually include less parts! No bloody idea how that works?

Same reason why back in the 1990's a rebuild kit for a certain V6 American engine cost more than the kit for a V8 that used exactly the same bearings , rings etc . Because they must pay someone to remove the unwanted parts . Seems like it cost more at one time to have an unlisted phone number , the phone company had to pay someone to go around erasing your number from all of the phone books

Yep the downside to going the dealer route is they do the inspection, you fail, then the parts come from Italy.  No sense in buttoning it back up and paying twice on labor, so your bike sits there in a corner waiting on its box.

Pete's got that licked!

Not licked but at least it gives me a head start. I hate customers having their bikes off the road, especially with this problem which was entirely the designer's fault and should be dealt with swiftly and efficiently. People shouldn't be left dangling for months, or, in my opinion, fighting for a kit.

We only have 'A' kits available in USA currently, I been telling them to keep riding till the 'B' comes in. No 'C' kit bikes lined up. But now I need another 'Hydro' kit, that bike has 800mi on it, their still out there coming in. Last one was couple months back and they had 1 kit left, hope it's still there.

Sounds about right. Whoever's in charge couldn't run a brothel in an army camp!

Check in on the Ghetto Steve. Ron's just pulled the big ends on his early lump. It ain't pretty and mimics what I've found on the 'Bad Ones'.

There again we have blokes like Trog who have been through five sets of cams and tappets and his thing refuses to die????????
