The Quail Gathering
« on: May 18, 2015, 01:55:17 PM »
The Quail Motorcycle Show in Carmel, California is a big hit annually.  This year, in addition to nearly 400 show motorcycles, they had a special display dedicated to Military Motorcycles.  There were various Harley and Indian and BMW, but also a few Zundapp and Nimbus and Condor.  I was the lone Military representative from Italy with my SuperAlce.  Also the only Guzzi Single on display.

Someone else posted artistic B&W pics of my bike:

and you can follow that link for many other photos.

Some of the things at this show are VERY exotic and expensive.

And then someone's creative idea of a Ducati:

It was a good time.  My friend Larry and I rode the ride the previous day, also good.  First time I've had a conversation with Gene Romero.  Yahoo.

It's a nice bunch of people and machines from all over the spectrum, we were treated very well.  Showy but not too showy.

It seems to be successful financially and I hope so.  I will be back next year.
