V7 Sport Ignition removal from housing (pin not moving)

Hi all,
I'm flummoxed as to how to shift the pin illustrated to remove my original ignition switch from the housing. The lock mechanism is frozen so while I could hope that freeing the tumbler would do the trick I have no idea if it's relevant.
Hints & tips greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

You need the ignition key, as you turn the key, can't recall which of the three positions, but I think the second or running position and then press the pin it will depress sufficiently to allow the cylinder to pull out of the cast body.

Thanks mate,
looks like I'll keep lubing the key and working it everyday...
Appreciated,
Mike

That pin is just an anti theft thing. I've ground it down with a dremmel. The 2 screws hold it in place.
