Time for adjustable foot rests on the 8V Norge

There has to be a way. In looking at how they are mounted and where everything else is in relationship to them. it seems that being able to adjust them lower by at least an inch should not be all that difficult.

Time to tackle this after the next trip. I have some billet laying around and after the play-dough mock I'll see what it takes to make up a set. It does look like they will need to come outward a tad but other than that it should be doable.

Has anyone else tried it yet? I know about the mods for the 1st gen Norge but this need to be specific to the 8V.

I put Goldwing pegs on my 12S and have just recently added them to my Stelvio also.  On the 12S, they were 1" lower, much wider and longer and rubber-topped in comparison to the stock aluminum sport-bike style pegs.  On the Stelvio, the GW pegs are only about 1/2" lower but still more comfortable.

I found both sets on ebay as brand-new take offs from trike conversions.  One set was $35, one was $50 shipped.  You'll need a=one new Honda footpeg spring from Bike Bandit, I forget which side but it will be obvious when you compare to the Norge pegs / springs.

There will be a little interference from the side stand - I had to nip a corner off on the 12S but nothing on the Stelvio.  You're heel will also touch the center stand arm a little if you ride on the balls of your feet.  Brake and shifter can be adjusted with the concentric peg.

I had tried the Knight Designs 1" lower rubber-topped pegs on the 12S and had to grind one of the gussets off to get it to fit, but I did not like the fit / position.

Or you could just take off the rubber pad on top of the peg. That will lower it about 3/4", but then you will want to fill in the peg with something.

I have tried both. I have tried removing the rubber pads from the stock foot pegs, and I have tried replacing the stock foot pegs and toe pegs with units from Knight Designs.

Removing the rubber pads does help, but the naked foot pegs feel odd under foot, and there is a bit more vibration due to the lack of rubber padding.

The Knight Designs units are very well made, and I still like to use them for longer trips, but not for commuting. They lower your feet about one inch, which is good, but you have to be careful in making left-hand turns and up-shifting at the same time (say, turning left from a stop light). It is very easy to touch the road with your left boot! Also, mine lack rubber padding, so there is a bit of vibration from that. Finally, your side stand will hit the underside of the left foot peg (and vibrate against it), and the center stand will hit your left heel (and vibrate against it).
