Eldo ADV
« on: June 17, 2015, 11:21:17 AM »
This morning i headed off for some Eldo ADV. 30 miles in on a logging road I stopped to take a pic at a bridge. When i started off, my clutch cable snapped. I have a spare.......but it was one for the Falcone! Oh well, with a bit of creative jiggering I rode off, just as a large bear loped across the road ahead. In 60 miles of gravel i saw zero vehicles. Perfect.!

Pics are on my other camera, but none of the bear....(one of three I saw).....you'll have to trust me on that one.

Nick (pics will follow when I get home)

On an old Eldo, you can use the brake pedal as a clutch lever.

Disconnect the linkage for the rear brake and secure the rod so it is safe. Tie the clutch cable to the brake lever, so that when you push it down, as in braking, you disengage the clutch.

This only leaves the front brake available, so caution is a must!!

Bugs arent too bad, but then, I work in the bush a lot of the time so they have to be Really bad before i notice.

The N Falcone cable just about reaches stretched over the tank. I just rode about 150 miles with and its working fine.  I could probably have used one of the cables from the 4LS brake too.  Riding clutchless on loose gravel for another 30 miles would have been entertaining....

great tip Tom...I'll remember that.
