Anybody here been to the MotoGP at Indy?
« on: July 01, 2015, 03:47:52 AM »
I've been doing some wishful thinking tonight...I was wondering if any of you guys have been to the MotoGP at Indy. If so, did you ride a bike there and was it easy to find parking? What is the traffic like trying to get in?

I went in 2008. Traffic wasn't too bad, and they had dedicated motorcycle parking and gear check, close to one of the gates. Parking was free for bikes back then.

Same at COTA in Austin this year.

It is an awesome time. I have bought packages that include parking and parked across from the main entrance. Traffic is much better than when it is all cars.
I will post some pics when I am not on a tablet.

Been there 4 times (until COTA Moto GP).

Lots of the parking and camping right by the track.  You might be able to do a paced ride on the track- check for tickets.  Probably find cheaper/better tickets from the private sellers than purchasing from the track.

Downtown had a bike weekend (check schedule).  Indy Mile isn't run during Moto GP weekend this year due to State Fair.

Get a Tenderloin sandwich at Mug N Bun.   :bike-037:
