2600 more miles on the cali 14
« on: July 20, 2015, 08:36:23 PM »
Made it back in one piece from our  trip  to Nova Scotia, Cape Breton and and New Brunswick Canada. Happy to report the cali ran flawlessly for another 2800 mile run. Seven days of great weather and wonderful people and scenery. Did a little more highway this time as we rode up from Maine instead of taking the ferry like last year. Found the cruise control very handy and over all the bike was very comfortable for 300 mile day's on average. We had no problem with fuel range and averaged between forty and fifty miles per gallon. You really get an appreciation of the power of the cali motor when you have the cruise control set at seventy five miles per hour and come to a hill, damn thing pulls like a mule and never slows down a bit, you better be sure your not too close to someones tail. A lot of great people up there , hope to be able to return next summer. I must say I did miss my dog and all you wild goosers. Got some good pics and will post em up once I have a chance to photo bucket them.  I  was surprised to pass a Moto guzzi dealership in Dieppe, and was  glad I didn't need them for anything, but nice to know there is at least one up there. We did spot a black devil in Alma New Brunswick and that was it for Guzzi's, lots of Hd's and Goldwing's. Hope everyone is well on WG.   dave

Did you have nice clear weather on Cape Breton Island?   We lucked out when we went on the Stelvio a couple years ago, and had beautiful weather and could see ALL the scenery and the whales and the lobster fishing boats and all that good stuff.

Really nice ride, glad you enjoyed it!

What a great trip!  Glad you made it home okay.

I've put 500 miles on my Eldorado in the first week- that is a lot for me.  Once I get some saddlebags I will be taking it out for some long runs, as you say the 1400s are very comfortable and have nice power.

Look forward to the pics!

We had great fall like weather, only one day of fog and drizzle not bad at all. Cape Breton was beautiful as was rt.2 on the Nova Scotia side of the Bay of Fundy. Well worth the ride to get there. Roads were pretty rough as they had a bad winter with a lot of flash freezing. Also would like to here more on that Eldorado, and pic's.   dave

The big Cali is a great road bike.  I've done many 300+ mile days on my Custom.

I am soooo jealous.
