Carb Spot parts wanted
« on: July 27, 2015, 07:18:17 PM »
The Kid has just scored a lightly crashed red Carb Spot.
Needs a shifter, headlight, and would like to find a solo seat.
Any leads?
TIA..

I have a pair of passenger peg brackets and an inner rear fender for anyone that needs them. FREE.

The only true solo seat were available through stien dinse and were serious $$$ the others are usually a combination of someone been clever with the pillion seat base. Headlight is the same as the Mid 90s Ducati SS/851/888 should open up the field a bit.

If he chooses to, he can take the existing pillion seat pan and make a fiberglass cowl.  That's what I did.  I never ride with a passenger and like the clean look.  I have a spare untouched pillion pad to bring it back to stock.

Pro Italia had a nice one, too.

I remember at least three solo tails for the bikes from as many makers

They're all quite rare.

The last Pro Italia solo tail I saw on Ebay sold for something like $800.

The postage might be prohibitive, but there are two breaking on this site:

Seems like Moto International sold those cowl covers back in the day.

The advantage the cover that replaces the pillion pad has is that you can use your key to access the batteries and fuses vs. removing the entire tail section everytime you need access to those items, like you would have to with a solo tail.

I have used Reboot for Daytona and Sport 1100 parts. Pete is easy to deal with and considering some parts are now out of production and/or unavailable he's been my go to guy if I can't find it stateside.

Another vote for Reboot. Pete seems to keep his eye out for 1100 Sports. Query him by email to confirm what's available; you may have to wait for certain bits to turn up. I've an idea that the shifter may be generic - one from a V11 may be the same. (The brake pedal is easier to source - Corsa Italiana had new ones a year ago). At least in the US the headlight wasn't that trapezoidal affair the rest of the world got (I had trouble finding one of those, but Guzzi Spares Australia came to the rescue), but the rectangular one may be easier to get hold of, perhaps a Fiat or a Ducati one is the same. Check some the older threads on V11 LeMans.com and other sites for equivalent headlight substitutes. There was a chap in Taiwan who built a new fairing to fit a round headlight - looks great.

Congratulations to your boy on his acquisition. There's a lot of fun there. Ventura still make rear racks for these.

I got him a set of red Guzzi suspenders when he first got the Greenie. I've never seen him wear them, though.  Hey! He's an airplane (and helicopter) guy. All that electronic gimcrackery is just a problem waiting to happen.  :azn: :boozing:

Thanks for that, I'm passing info along. He asked me if Joe Kenny didn't make a shifter? I think so, but have lost track of him and whether he has started making stuff again.
I told him that if worse comes to worse, I'll make him one, but it sounds entirely too much like work..
He's already sourced a headlight off the bay.

The rest of the world Trapezoidal affair Headlight is from the BMW C1 enclosed motorcycle..... which was made a few years ago. Not sure if it was sold in the US.
