anyone lower their pegs on a V7 Classic?
« on: August 18, 2015, 10:07:11 AM »
I was just looking and the pegs could come down something between 1 - 2 inches before hitting the pipe.  I guess I could custom make the bracket, but the pegs would be fixed with no spring.

Anyone else do this? If so, how, and a picture would be great. Was it necessary to cut and weld the shifter and brake levers, or did you just leave them alone.

THanks
David

David,

I lowered my brake pedal by adding washers to the lever's rear end, so that the brake foot peg would sit lower.
I didn't lower the shift lever, but I did add a new peg, to sit closer to my foot.
I can give you details if you want.

Todd at GuzziTech sells lower pegs.  Think they're one inch lower.

I lowered the pegs on my Nevada by 1 1/2 inches to gain some leg room.  I fabricated new mounts from pipe and bar stock.  The new ones use the same hinge pins, springs and rubber covers.  The only tools needed were a drill, hacksaw, grinder and a welder.  The extra leg room is nice but 1 1/2 inches is about all that can be gained because of the brake and shifter position.  It was worth the trouble.  I've seen some machined from solid stock on Ebay.
