hose in gas tank

The hose that runs through my gas tank is cracked.  Since the hose is part of the tank, Guzzi's only solution is to replace the entire tank. I have had the bike 6 to 7 years; however, don't see how that hose would crack.  Does anyone have any solution to repair a hose inside the tank without the gasoline eating away at the fix?

I love to ride the Guzz and love the bike; however, I do not love the work that is required on Guzzi's. If I was mechanically inclined, it might be fine. Trying to get another year or two out of this bike as I need something with less maintenance.

Appreciate any suggestions.

My first suggestion would be to enlighten us about what we're discussing.  Guzzi made a lot of models . . . which one do you have?

Second, I'd either come to terms with the need for a mechanic or the need to become mechanically inclined.  No 6 - 7-y-o machinery will continue to function without working on it.  "Loving" it or not is immaterial.  If you're unable/unwilling to do the work, you need to be willing and able to spend the money for someone else to do it.  Either way, repair and maintenance has to happen.

If you are going to repair the fuel line inside the tank make sure you get the proper hose that is designed to be submerged in our ethanol laced fuels. Gates makes Submersible Fuel Line Hose. Here is a link to it.

Are you talking about the one that goes from the filler cap to the bottom of the tank that drains water?
If so, I'd get some Caswell epoxy and slosh it liberally on that sucker. Hard to imaging that one breaking, though. As RK says, give us some details.
