Help! Need Ambo Ujoint
« on: September 08, 2015, 11:13:45 AM »
Does anybody have a used Ujoint that could get one by in a pinch but too good to throw away? I need one for my Ambassador that I've been slowly putting together. I just removed mine and the joint is trashed along with one yoke worn completely in two!! At least the swing arm is good. Please help me if you are able. I'm willing to pay for it.

Not sure if the price is the same for loops, but Moto Inernational sold me a new Tonti U-joint for $164+shpg.

I think Jim is right, the 850T should work, but not the 850T3 model

I don't suggest using anything less than a fully functional new or rebuilt U-Joint.  Why would you?

Oops, I just checked this year's price:  $273.73 +shpg.  Quite a jump in one year.

Correct.  One local owner had his older Tonti Ujoint go out and catch fire (you only thought BMW's did that) on the highway.  Fire trucks etc came.  He's lucky the rear did not lock and toss him.

Depends on the U-joint. If you have a latter T3 style u-joint SD has an economy model inclusive of the rubber boot, u-joint, carrier bearing, retaining clip and hose clamps for $202.00. If you discount all the other parts the U-joint costis probably less than $164.00.

They only catch fire if you stop.  Grab a beer and I'll tell you how I know.  Fire trucks optional.
