retirement dream shop...and a pucker

All,

Took Little Goose out for about 150 miles today, here and there and roundy bouty.  Celebrated my hard won right to have a Labor Day.

Did a dodga squirrel out near Fulshear, no big deal.  Took a break here:

Got interested in the "for rent sign"...

Wow this could be a real opportunity for a soon to be retired ex-geophysicist!!

Finished ride going south on 36, then towards Brazos Bend park, followed the "Los Lobos" gang, kept my distance as they were probably on their way down to Galveston to hold church, or something.

Came around a bend around 50 mph, white bubba-farmer trucker came to stop onto side road, no big deal, but from behind the truck sprang his liver and white hunting dog.  Did not panic, but I had a really good pucker moment.  Thankfully the dog turned around, otherwise it was a lethal situation for both of us.  I have good dog karma.  I think I handled the situation well, no panic, did slow a bit, but frankly I had no more than a second to react.  One more stone onto the weight for modern ABS brakes?  Yeah probably.  That is two death dealing events in two weeks.  Enough already.

Happy Labor day you guys!  When I open "Lost Boys" come on by.  Free coffee for Guzzi riders and discount on flying eagle ink.

Two near-death experiences, and a death's-head on the window of this storefront for rent?     Have you NO respect for omens, auguries, and signs to go along with this dog karma?

I suggest a nice yogurt stand, or maybe a lawn maintenance business ....

Lannis,

Naw not one to assign false correlations.  Just two of those riding "events".  Both fortunately turned out ok.  Luck is more important than skill sometimes?

Dusty, hey I will be on a retirement budget, but not too tight....but yeah it is a heck of an idea, don't you think?  Honestly I am smart enough to avoid the retirement stupid business idea gambit.  I have other, better things to do.

8 work days left, carpet install is done, Alzheimer's clinic is closed:  life is good.  Hawaii coming up soon.
