BROKEN-DOWN NORGE in North Carolina
« on: October 16, 2015, 04:15:31 PM »
My brother just broke down on 74/23 near Balsam, NC, on his way to Blue Ridge MC. He got the ABS light and a red triangle. He pulled over and the bike died. Can anyone who has an idea call him?

His number is 804.691.0543. Please help!

He's now in Waynesville. Found a 10A blown fuse. Will try a 20a so he can get someplace safe

....Pete's been run oft again, so he'll be no help.

Nobody insulted him or anything, he just doesn't agree with the "GuzziDiag" advice given by some of his compatriots about 10 days ago and seems to be taking a break.

Maybe if someone's stuck on the side of the road and he knows what the problem might be he'll come back?

Ray made it to BRMC. We'll look at sorting things out tomorrow. mark is here and suggested disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU. We'll also look at grounding and any other obvious electrical shenanigans.

He might have survived his Midget Porn phase, but he's going to wake up next to Jude with some important parts missing if there's a young Slovakian woman in the closet somewhere .....

Shoulda taken the .... no, never mind.

Sorry this monkey wrench has been thrown into his trip, but sounds like he's got good help, and this will just "put another wrinkle in his arse" as they say (add to his knowledge and experience) .....

He is still communicating , and would probably answer a serious question . Just don't mention bed bugs and Muskogee in the same sentence

It looks like the battery's the culprit. After charging all night, it registered 11.3. Xmas tree sweep but just a click. No start. He's going to get a new battery and also trailer it home. Thanks all.

The 20-month-old NAPA AGM battery in my Norton just failed, too.    Was losing its charge for no reason, then wouldn't charge back up to 12.7.

An astonishing number of electrical problems on this list over the last 7 years have eventually been traced back to unexpectedly bad batteries.   Most of the rest are bad grounds ....
