Make a tool roll for your V7
« on: October 22, 2015, 10:55:29 PM »

I thought the stock tool kit on my V7 was a bit basic so made this one over a couple of evenings.

I went over the bike and worked out what tools I wanted as an everyday carry. The little pocket contains fuses.
A scrap of canvas, some velcro, strong thread and a couple of glasses of red wine and its done.

Careful planning means it fits the bike perfectly with enough space left for a tyre pressure gauge.

Nice kit. Can you fit some high strength Velcro in there? Stuff works as good as tie straps for lots of stuff and is easier to adjust, take off and replace.

I wrap some around the handlebars, always handy and you can cut into thin strips if needed.

Nice work, like something you'd expect in the storage well of a Ferrari.

This is what fits in standard tool bag.
Notice cut 10mm Allen key for V7 gearbox oil filler + cylinder head bolts.
8mm socket on bar for box spanner.
17mm spanner ground thin for tight squeeze v7 gear oil drain.
Velcro tie rap
Rag
Small and large screwdrivers, small useful to adjust headlamp aim.
Tyre valve remover.
.
.
Think I need another pic as missing spoke tensioner in.
Bag with bulb stored separately.

Store your Allen keys inside box spanner.

Nice project. I love discussions about the bare essentials/survival kits.

Then again, if I was riding with Jeanie, she'd just bob her head and the bike would be fixed.

Thanks for that video link, wish I'd seen it before putting my  kit together.

The only thing I'd add to the video would be a stapler for any roadside engine work.
