Are we talking the lady or the character ?

Yes, and, well, yes.

I was going to mention that she hasn't aged terribly well.

Well, neither have I......

Beats the hell out of politics...

I'd take Jeanie/Barbara Eden every time.

Samantha/Elizabeth Montgomery, hands down.
She had beauty, magical powers, and a brain, which Jeannie always seemed to lack

I do have to respect a woman who doesn't get her face mutilated to try to stay young looking, with cheek implants and inflated lips, etc. though.

Diana Rigg was actually fairly handsome for many years (certainly through her time hosting PBS Masterpiece Theater, or is that "Theatre'?) - it's only been in the last five or ten years that time managed to catch her.

As for magic, well, the later Emma Peel Avengers episodes did have a fair bit of sci-fi and supernatural influences!

Jeannie in that costume in the bottle with all the pillows was the stuff 12 year-old boys dreamt about.... wait.... did I say that out loud?

In keeping to the OP I get to the same vote, two ways.

>The title asks me to choose betwixt Jeannie and Samantha:

Sure, they both have "powers" but only one is sworn to the "Master"... where's the choice?

Then there too, is the whole bottle situation - a + in a pile of pluses.

>The poll asks Eden or Montgomery:

I'd already be inclined to lean towards Barbara in general, then, taking "The 7 Faces of Dr. Lao" into account - t-ain't no choice at all.

Now, wanna stir the mix for me and those like me? Throw Samantha's evil twin in the mix! A naughty, hot witch? Yowza!

Speaking of having too much time on hand.....I wondered what the original twosome looked like today. Found out EM died very young in 1995. BE is still alive and kickin' at 84; she did receive an honorary Ph.D. a few years back, so she must have SOME brains-right?

One the one hand you got this chick who you can order back to her room whenever you want to, who has nothing on her mind other than fulfilling your every wish.

On the other hand you've got this house frau you cant agree with on anything, who's got an extended family that's crazier than she is, and they're all doing their best to ruin you.

I can do that math.   :boozing:

Jeannie or Samantha?  Jeannie

Ginger or Mary Ann?  Ginger

Bailey or Jennifer?  Bailey

Emma Peel or Catwoman (Julie Newmar)?  Both

Carol Burnett or Vickie Lawrence?

Mariel Hemmingway or Brook Shields?

This kind of either / or is about watching the shows now, not about what the actresses look like now.  And we're certainly not talking real relationships, just fantasy.

Winter has come early.

Ugh! How repulsive! Are you suggesting that I would consider a base, physical relationship when given the opportunity to have a caring, meaningful interaction filled with mutual respect and endless conversation about our inner feelings?

A woman that I always thought was beautiful is Jane Seymour. She caught my eye as a Bond Girl over 40 years ago and still looks great today at (almost) 65. She must have some problems though as she has been married and divorced 4 times. I guess she was the spokes women for "Beauty is only skin deep"  :boozing:

A Google images search for "bewitched motorcycle" turns up a Panhead chopper and a Suzuki.
