US slides have a ramp for accel pump that squirts fuel all the time the slide raises, this is the #3 ramp. Euro slides have a #5 ramp that dumps all the squirt from accel pump in one spot, at the top of slide raise (WFO).
The #50 is the cutaway for idle mixture, bigger the cut-leaner the mix.
My set-up was a 60/3 slide, If you need them, I have a few more sets.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your clear explanation and your offer. As I live in europe, buying them at Stein dinse or Teo Lamers might be cheaper.
My LeMans IV backfires in the 3000-4000 range when I hold the throttle in that range.
A 60/3 might help as I use my accelaration-pump. I first try to ballance them with my carbtune.

regards,

Xander

Holding steady at 3,000-4,000 rpm probably means that the throttle is not very far open.  It also means that the action of the accelerator pump has no effect, since the throttle is steady.  Going to a larger cutaway is likely to make the mixture leaner, making the problem worse.

My guess is that with the different slide, there was also a different needle used, or a different needle clip position.  Can you try 1/2 or one clip position richer and see if the problem area is helped?

Hi Jim,

I tried that last week, but it had no effect whatsoever.
I started on the third clip, next on the 2nd and fourth.

just now I adjusted the gascables a little more accurate. nut only by equalling pressure but on sound (least backfires) as well.
I think I solved it now. No more backfires. I seems the gascables were set unequal after all.

thanks again guys  :thumb:!!
