So the Aerostich Combat boots are no longer virgins.  Took the V7R for a very much needed romp.  Nice day, and sunny.  Noticed I was missing shifts from first to second, pretty unusual.  Couple times took two tries.  So, I think the leather stiffness needs reduction.  I will simply wear them for a few days.  Found some long cowboy boot socks.  Another way is to put a boot up the ass of a miniature poodle (just kidding).



They are great boots:  very protective of foot and leg to mid-calf.  I noticed warm feet for a change this time of year.  My bet is they are more than waterproof.  Saturday I will try them on the hot rod Triple.

You can accelerate the break-in.  Put on a pair of thin nylon socks, then your normal socks over the nylon ones.  Then get the boots soaking wet.  I actually filled mine with water for a day.  Finally, put the wet boots on and walk around for an hour.  The nylon socks will keep the boots and socks from rubbing your feet raw.  If you feel any abrasion on your feet...stop and take the boots off.  Let the boots dry and then coat with your choice of leather dressing.  Done!

Good suggestion on shift lever.  I may do that if I continue to have missed shift problems.  Today I wore the new boots on a poodle walk, and just got back from a "spirited" ride on the hot rod Triumph.  No shift problems with the Triumph as it has a speed shifter, and very light touch on the transmission anyway compared to the V7R.  Love the boots!  I will continue to break them in via daily poodle walks of about 2 miles or so.
