 Guzzisti,
The November 2015 SWVA Guzzi lunch will be this coming Saturday Nov. 21st, 12:00 noon, at Amici's Italian Bistro in Scottsville, Va.  Amici's full  address is 370 Valley Street, Scottsville Va., 24590. Phone # is (434) 286-4000.  My cel (for emergencies) is (434) 426-3329, & my home # is (434)993-3841. The advanced weather-guess for Saturday in Scottsville is a high of 55 degrees & sunny, 0% chance of precip.  Let's hope they are right (for a change) & we have a nice day for a ride.
All Virginia Guzzi meets are open to anyone interested in Moto Guzzi Motorcycles, No matter what  (or even if) you currently ride.
I hope to see you there,
Ronkom

Hmm. 3.5 hours, 144 miles one way. Weather is still looking good. Might have to  :bike-037: down...

Woke up this morning to a temp of 28F, it was still only 30F when I left at 8 am. No worries, the Guzzi fairing and DB lowers do a fantastic job of blocking the air, only the back of my legs and my thumbs felt cool, the rest of me was rather cozy. I did have two layers under my riding pants and three layers under my jacket. By time I got to Orange, VA it was 51F, probably a few degrees warmer in Scottsville. Beautiful sunny day, excellent food at Amici's Italian Bistro and a good time visiting with my everyone. The ride down was enjoyable (only marred by some ape-hangered Harley "bad-ass" passing me on the right in my lane  ), but the ride back a different route was more relaxing with less traffic. Home just after 5 pm, 294 miles total. As usual, in my haste to get to or from somewhere, I didn't take the time to shoot more photos. Here are the few I did.

Warming the engine, getting ready to go:

The gathering riders:

The Old Stone Jail, Palmyra, VA:

Confederate Soldiers Memorial, Palmyra:

Old freight house, Gordonsville, VA:

Very nicely kept Buckingham Branch caboose, old water tower hiding off behind the trees. Gordonsville, VA.

I had a nice ride up (400 miles RT). The ride between Lynchburg VA and Scottsville was very very nice. Enjoyed some tasty food and conversation with an enjoyable group of motorcycling enthusiasts. When possible I look forward to such gatherings in the future. I so wish this had been summer with nice long days... I saw the Walton's Mountain Museum sign near Scottsville on VA-6. I always had an appreciation for that show, especially the Thanksgiving one with Patricia Neal. I wanted to visit but with it being November and 200 miles from home at 14:00 in the afternoon I thought it was best to keep pointed south to avoid riding after sun down during deer rutting season. Had a Blast both riding and the company was great. BK

Same here: would like to visit Monticello and Montpelier for starters, but no time for that yesterday.
