Cold and wet? not everywhere..
« on: December 06, 2015, 06:09:33 PM »
I usually find a week or so to ride in the cooler mountain air, solo or with mates in early January (our summer) but next year is already looking too busy so I took Friday off and headed south..

top of the range from Bega on the Snowy Mountains Hwy - just 2 nights staying in pub/hotel meant only needed the tank bag and I do like travelling light

Day 2 found my now second favourite road after being informed it was now sealed all the way - Omeo Hwy:

Mita Mita river headwaters

about all I saw the whole way to Omeo were bikes

after lunch at Omeo on to the Great Alpine Road south back to the coast

Day 3 started at Orbost - and on to my fave: the 'Chubby Checker' road - > 100 kms of deserted mountain twisties

on top of the range again it opens to beautiful countryside - still twisting though

then it was onto the Monaro hwy - long sweepers built for long legged guzzis and then home up the slab from Canberra to Sydney..

Nice one, Moz. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a snap of my favourite road - from the other end. And it's been too long.
