Need help with ring gap location v1000g5 '78

I'm reinstalling the rings on the v1000 and don't have any literature with me at the time. From what I remember the top ring gap is at 12 o'clock and the second rin gap is at 6 o'clock. Cant remember the where the oil scraper gap goes? These are stock rings from a low mileage 78 v1000 G5
Thx

Just stagger them all somewhat equally spaced around the piston will be fine. Where you start is not fussy.

For three sets of rings, I stagger them at 120 degrees, making sure that over the pin isn't one of them.
Does it matter? Dunno, but probably not.

I like to put the oil ring gap at "12 o'clock" and the other two gaps at "4 o'clock" and "8 o'clock".
