how to adjust V7R shifter so boot angle lower?

All,

The new Aerostich combat boots are less flexible than my old army desert boots.  Missed shifts occurred on the first ride.  I am breaking the boots in.  This afternoon I will go for another short ride.  If missed shifts keep being a problem (first to second)--how do I adjust the V7R shifter so the arm angle is lower please?  I took a look, and the procedure is not immediately obvious to a mud-fence mechanical brain like mine.

Some of this  and then do this with a BFH to the lever

The adjustment point I used is a vertical adjustment with two rose ended rod, behind the frame, from the shifter pivot to the gearbox. Top locknut is left-hand thread, bottom locknut is right-hand thread. Loosen locknuts and twirl the centre piece with your fingers. Lock up nuts again. Job done in a trice.

I feel for ya. I've had my Combat Lites for over 3 years and they're still not broken in.  I don't even attempt to ride my V7S with them knowing what will happen.  Not an issue with a heel-toe shifter though.  Can I pay anyone here with an 8 1/2 to run a marathon in my boots?

WAIT! What am I thinking, this is a Guzzi forum.  Can I pay someone to walk to and from the beer fridge for a year in my boots?

I don't even have a picture in front of me, but I'll give it a go since I've done it.  I believe one of the arms - the longest one - is easy to get to.  Loosen the locknuts and twist the rod (one side has LH threads).  As you twist the rod, the pedal will move up or down depending on the direction you turn it (CW or CCW).  Pretty easy, really.

BTW, it's not readily apparent, but you can move the footpeg itself as well.  Its mounted in a three position slot.  Just take it off to see what you can do with it.

+1 on Pokey's description.  If you look at it long enough (and drink a little) the connections / adjustments become apparent.

Keep wearing the boots each day as regular footwear.  Rub a bit of recommended leather conditioner (I use Lexol) into that "hinge" area at the front of your ankle and just keep walking.  You'll appreciate those boots if you ever go down at speed.

My Combat Lites have 9 years and probably 50000 miles on them.  Wearing them on my Stone is just fine.

I did poodle walks for a week (that is at least 1 mile, and up to 3 miles/day).  Broke the suckers in.  Man they are great boots!

Literally:  our Standard Poodle Gigi, and Miniature Poodle Gaston.  I walk them at least once a day, and fast, and we enjoy the pack time, exercise and such.  They bark at the ducks and swans and squirrels.
