Hello,  I will be going to my brothers tomorrow after work to look at his rusty 1966 Moto Guzzi that he just acquired. We will be trying to identify what model it is and I am not sure how he knows it is a 1966? He said he found a number on the motor, 1869, and a number on the generator that reads DN62M300-12300D?
I believe part of the handle bars and steering column has been cut off so I don't know if we can locate the VIN#?
I am going to take pictures and closely look for things that will help Identify its year & model?
Any suggestions??

1869 would be in the correct range for a '67 V700, frame numbers usually didn't match engine numbers on the V700. The frame number, if there is one, will be either on a tag riveted to the steering head or stamped directly into the steering head. The generator number will be of little help.

Photos will help the most in identifying it. Please post some when you get a chance.

The OP states part of the "steering column" has been cut off . Wonder if the neck was removed so the VIN could be used on a different bike ?
