Breva 750 handling -3 winter commute V.well

Well I've had the little Breva for nearly a month now or just over a thousand miles and I'm so impressed with this bike.

I don't know if the recent floods in the UK have made the news where you guys are but basically my first two weeks of commuting consisted of torrential rain, the third week was commenced by snow and today the temperature was -3 (26f) when I set off for work.

So far the bikes been utterly reliable, it starts on the coldest mornings, the heavy rain hasn't caused any electrical problems and the tractable engine combined with the commutative chassis make it great on icy roads (better even then my old KTM Duke 2 despite the KTM's lower weight and single cylinder power delivery).

My only concern so far is that I found a lot of emulsified water in the gearbox oil when I serviced it but that may just be a case of neglect by the previous owner. I guess I'll find out when I next service it.

I think its far to say I'm now a Guzzi enthusiast who's already lusting after other Guzzis 😍

What Roy said. :thumb:

Never had any problem with emulsified oil in the box, can't remember if they have a breather in the box or not. May well have been neglect as you said, as I can't see where water could actually get in.

Could be from all the moisture in the air and cold temps.  Same thing can happen in the tranny.  It would take a lot of riding to burn off all that moisture inside the drive train in that kind of ambient weather.

I have 18,000 miles on my 2007 Breva 750 purchased with a few thousand and not one real issue!  Some days i think about getting a bit more bike, and then I take a ride and realize how much fun it is to ride my Breva.
