Well if Moto Guzzi refuses to bring back a single, a Vecchio Falcone or better yet the Gambalunga I have a new lust.  is this an old man thing - the older I get the older the motorcycle I want??

I like all three including what's going on on the bottom.

I just don't care about "stat/bench races" edge cutting or techno-boasting.

I wanna enjoy bikes for what they are rather than what they are not.

Reliable, visceral, maintainable and needing of my brain and senors rather than the ones provided by the factory and sprinkled throughout the chassis please.


By the way - I thought you were on the verge of going full Joe Walsh there the way I first read it and my misperception of that sums up my perspective nicely:

I can just imagine a new horizontal single with a supercharger or turbo in place of the baloney slicer.  In fact, the blower could run off the counter balancer shaft. Light and powerful, probably not cheap.  But unique.

     If it has no baloney slicer flywheel, I see no interest, at least to me. Got to have that exposed flywheel.

Just watched the "Black Douglas" video - pretty cool.

I don't know that I'd be comfortable with that riding position but the concept looks to be a hit.

I wonder what I could make with my '84 XR200R engine in the way of faux-vintage? It's not as sweetly vertical as the Douglas lump but with twin carbs and twin exhaust it might fit nicely somewhere.
