Jackal with a sidecar

Well l spent this afternoon fibers  a torsion axel for my Cozy sidecar.  Next the sidecar hangers.  Then the Jackal bracket's.  You know some wood bad mouth a Cozy(myself every at one time) but 180 lbs. out of the box. I  Sayers it has some iron in it.  Now the paint not to good. Rudyr

That tub might be a bit light in weight, so if you're not adding a lot of ballast, you might want to mount it a bit wide to help compensate. (I have a Texas sidecar that may be even a bit lighter than the Cozy, but I have somewhere around 70 lb of ballast in it)

I have a Texas Ranger on my EV and carry 50 - 75 pounds of ballast, seems to fly a lot without it.

I've got Texas sidecar on a Harley is 160 lbs. plus 40 plus added weight.  I alway's like at least 200 lbs.

Back to Cozy, had axel under the frame put the box about 15 in. Off of slab.  To high for me makes car unstable @ high speed.  So cut it louse and putting axel under the fram.  Should be about 8 in. Or less.Rudyr

PS. Not under the frame. But on top.  That way I can add spacers to make it lower.  But down side may need to notch the box.  It has rubber bugged for add suppention.  I'm using adjustable torsion axels.  That makes for a lot of adjustment and modes, lengthen the torsion arm, how smooth a ride dose Rose want. Well when I ordered the torsion axels I got the light ones(425 lbs) to stiff.  I have seen with good resultses ,is drilling in the metal housing of the rubber torsion arm.  I'm going to length the arm 2 in.(just picked that length).  But for good sidecar handling, the axel needs to under the riders torso and approx. 12 in. In front of the cycle rear axel. Of course that just if you want to balance the car to the bike.rudyr
