Sorry I missed this thread. A 12 hour nightshift thing! Like already mentioned a Kymco would be a good choice. My 8 year old grandson has a 07 Kymco 90. We are the third owners and he would be the 5th child. Very reliable, well built, adjustable speed. The Arctic Cat and Kawasaki 50, 70 or 90 would all be made by Kymco. On the 90 with the screw all the way out of the throttle it only does around 15 mph. Can be adjusted to single digits for the beginner. As already mentioned there is another limiter in the CVT that can be removed on later models when they get bigger and more capable. So depending on their size I would pick any of them. Craigslist for a used one would save a lot of money. By the way my Granddaughter who is 6 has one too! Both have been riding for a year now.

Forgot to add, on the Kymco Mongoose 90 the 2010 models and up have reverse. Ours don't which I wish it did at times.
