But the next three days the prediction is for only 2 to 2.5 " in NE Louisiana.  Then a couple of dry days then more shower days.  Well, at least I'll get my taxes finished before deadline this year.

It has rain 17 1/2 inches just north of where I live, roads are flooded in many places and lots of folks have had their homes flooded. I am high an dry where I live.

I was at a doctors visit wednesday in Minden, they closed I-20 and parts of Hwy 80 behind me.  Took some backroads and my pickup made short work of some low water crossings, glad to get back home okay.

Thought we were going to have to book a room in Minden for a while there.  Glad to be in the pickup, course that was the plan when I left home.

Yep, I am across Lake Pontchartain from New Orleans, the rivers are going to crest in the next 24 hours with major flooding forecast. My place is in the highest area in Saint Tammany Parish so I should not have any problems.

CNN called the rain a once in 1000 year event, some attribute it to El Nino, makes me wonder what we did to piss him off!?!

I think we're up to 22" + now.   Here are a couple of photos of house boats on a local river, the Ouachita River,  near here that broke away from their moorings and lodged against a bridge.  I understand that during the height of the storm the river actually flowed backwards for awhile from all of the runoff.  Many homes and businesses still flooded throughout north Louisiana and flooding headed south.  Also had a tornado sighting near here a couple of hours ago.
