Wheels Up! SGC
« on: April 15, 2016, 09:08:55 PM »
So to speak. Cindy's doctor said her numbers are good and we can change zip codes.
First thing I try to do is change the mailing address online. The USPS says that address is invalid. I had to call the postmaster in Granville, NY and found out that the former owner never registered the address with the P.O. She was really helpful considering that everybody and their cousins were filing taxes. We are hiring a pro to haul the horses and I get to haul everything else. Haul Bikes has a 400 dollar special right now so they are taking the Guzzi. Next we have to change insurance plans but that only requires a fax to the retirement system. Eastern Time Zone, here we come!

Be curious to see how you make out with Haulbikes.
The BMW Airhead group gave them good ratings for bike handling.
BUT:
I shipped a vintage BMW from Florida to California.
They stated 2 to 2.5 weeks for the transit.
It's now 3.5 weeks and the buyer does not have his bike.
I'm not worried that it is lost, just disappointed that they set expectations they didn't meet.
I'd feel better if they provided the sort of tracking that UPS provides.

I'm not concerned with delivery times. As long as it gets there.  Timing depends upon the driver's schedule. I chose them because they had the least number of negative reviews.

Kent *nearly* bought the Scura RC from memory. I missed him but *Think* I met Cindy on my Griso trip. Hopefully we can catch up on our next US trip, maybe 2017-18. It'll probably be mainly 'East Coast' and the northern parts of NY state are fantastic as we saw when Erika was studying here.

Yes, fortunately for me, the Mighty Scura sale to Kent fell through. Something about his credit union not loaning money on a bike with Texas registration owned by an Austrian or something like that..
Yes, many people think of New York city when they think "New York."
One thing Dorcia and I found when camping in upper New York, though, is there are two rocks for every dirt.  :boozing:

Hi Kent,

My buyer gets his bike tomorrow. 4 weeks instead of the stated 2.5. I wasn't really worried about time but where my buyer wired me full payment well in advance I didn't want to give him any reason do doubt his decision or trust of the transaction. Never had anyone send me $8K real money on my promise to deliver a motorcycle in the future. I greatly appreciate his trust.

And,YES, Haulbikes got only positive reviews from the Airheads BMW chat group. That's a lot of people shipping a lot of bikes and having no problems. I would use them again in a heartbeat. All contacts were very professional. Pam Holland is the main contact for arrangements. She answers the phone and helps any way she can. It's never having to re-explain an issue because a new person is on the line. Your call is to the company and the USA.

Best luck on your relocation. May the new experience be better than you could ever hope.
