Guzzisti,
Beeeutiful day, great riding, tasty lunch w/ a great bunch of guys, a visit to a model railroad club layout. It don't get much better! We had 10 attending the lunch on 8 motorcycles, 3 Guzzis. Lannis Selz rode his new Triumph Trophy, (first time I'd seen it-a lot of motorcycle!). MIke Jones was on his Guzzi 1100 Sport, Nate Jones Kawasaki Ninja, David Phillips Guzzi SP. This was David's first outing of the year, recovering from medical issues. Matt Grannell 1100 Ducati, Chris Walker Suzuki DR650, I rode the EV, still a little popping on decel, but I'm tired messing w/it, just wanna ride! Andrew Culpepper rode down from Northern Va on an "Italohonda" The bike is a Honda CB 100R This model is so popular in Europe that Honda builds them in a factory in Italy! The badge on the frame reads "Made in Italy" and Andrew has added tasteful "Made in Italy" decals under the "Honda" logo on the tank sides...perfect! Allyn Chappell is having starter hassles with his Guzzi Mille, & caged to the lunch. Jim Stogdale, who hosted our visit to the model train club, also caged it this month.
If you're a model train buff & haven't been able to attend either of the two lunches we've had in Staunton, the railroad museum/model railroading club layouts are open to the general public Saturday afternoons 1-5:00 P.M. The location is in the Staunton Mall. I don't have an address for the mall, but it's on Greenville Ave. only a couple red lights from Maria's, which is at 901. Greenville Ave is also Rt. 11 thru town.
Ride safe, see y'all next month
Ron
