9T is a nice bike, but . . .

. . . it's not doing it for me.  In terms of character, it's a long way from being a Guzzi.

I could have bought back my Tenni Griso, but after riding it on back to back days with a 9T, I felt like the 9T was way better.  But now I'm really missing something from my motorcycling experience.  It's all about engine character, and the 9T falls far short.  So does everything else, except maybe a Harley, but I don't want a heavy cruiser.

I think I made the right decision not going with the Griso, because I believe I am at heart a small blockian.  It's going to be either a V7 II or a V9 for me.  I've had two V7's, so I'll decide after I can test ride the V9.

Kind of an expensive "mistake," but maybe not too bad.  I got $1,500 off the 9T, and it still should fetch a pretty good price.  And it was fun for 4,000 miles, but now I know for sure I've got to go with Guzzi.

Just thought others might be interested in this experience.

See, I'm in a similar boat but different.  My Griso, especially with the Agostini can, has character coming out the wazoo but more often than not, I find myself missing more of a standard motorcycle like my former '15 Stone was and with that killer tank range and comfort.

You will be hard pressed to find a motor bike with  the character of the griso. They truly are a one of a kind hot rod. and aesthetically the most complemented bike I've ever owned. It will out handle the 9t as well, especially at higher speeds. I have been considering selling mine after buying the tuono but I still find myself unable to part with it as I know I would regret it.

Well, I'vehad a Griso and wrecked it.  Bought a 9T and had it for a year.  Traded it for a BMW R1200RS

Griso had the most character, 9T was the best around town short ride bike,  R1200RS is a true Sport Tourer with the emphasis on Sport.

Don't write off the water heads until you have spent some time on them.  Plenty of character for me.  Fast, comfortable, and handles excellent.  Maybe too many electronic gizmos, but it's one heck of an all around package

But I sure miss the Griso.  My Stelvio makes the same noises, but with a sidecar attached it is a whole different world.

The Griso definitely has the most character of everything I've ridden, and it's not even close.  But I don't need that level of performance and I don't need the weight.  I'm tied down to a young family, so riding is all shorties, no use for a Stelvio or an RS.  I might indeed be the guy the V9 was made for.

I got a chance to ride the R1200RS a few weeks ago.     I've ridden the R1200GS (waterhead), but, damn, I forgot about the smooth torque, everywhere, nature of these motors.  The R1200RS is a fantastic motorcycle, definitely a sport tourer with the emphasis on sport.

But, if you crave the sound and feel of a Guzzi, you need a Guzzi.

I was out on the Aero Lario and the new to me Monza today. Which was my favorite? The one I was on at the time. I *love* the Guzzi engines. Big block, small block, thumper.. I love em all.

Well my non-Griso is a Honda CB-1100. Wonderful around town, better on the road than I originally thought it would be. Plenty of Honda character. Which is very different from the Griso character. Sometimes you feel like a Ferrari and the inline four can scream similar to one. But there are times you want the visceral feel of power a steam engine. Pick the Griso.

I'm pretty sure I'll keep the CB, not sure about the Griso. She may turn into a V9 or maybe a California. A bit worried about the extra weight the 1400 brings so the V9 may get the nod.

But the Africa Twin is sitting in the wings and it may seduce me.

Well, in the case of my K1300, a face-melting yet very comfortable washing machine that screams like an F1 car if you get into the upper revs.

I know what you mean, but I still love mine.
