« on: April 28, 2016, 02:01:12 PM »
Just received the message from Bill's former wife, Laurie Terry Kerekes.
What a shock and such sad news.  My condolences to Bill's family and loved ones.
RIP Guzzi Guy.

Bill was know as EV Bill on the forum.
He was a fixture at the LA and TX State Rallys and Swamp Scooters.
I'll miss his wry sense of humor and quirky smile.
God Bless you Brother.
Condolences to Lori and any other family.

this is a hell of a shock to hear someone so young taking a dirt nap. Always enjoyed Bill around the campfire at the rallies.
OK, someone tell me this isn't true

Wow--- Don't know what to say.  Shocked! Had a good, long visit with him at the La Rally a couple of weekends ago.  A laid back, great guy.

Wow.  Speechless here.  Bill won the hard-luck award at my 9th campout when the flooding river stole his helmet.  Great guy and will be missed. Curious of more details.

Thank for all of the kind words and sympathy.  I'm sure Bill is feeling them. He loved this group and considered y'all family.  He so looked forward to the rallys, and after a lot of convincing me to tag along, I understand why.  There's not a finer group of men and women.  I'm very glad I shared these experiences with him.
Bill was found at his desk this morning.  We are assuming it was a heart attack.  He didn't suffer. That's left for those of us left behind
He didn't want a funeral.  I will take his ashes to my hometown in Montana and return him to his beloved mountains.  I would like to come to a rally and tip a few Shiners with y'all and tell campfire stories and remember Bill.  If you feel moved to do something,  a donation to any animal shelter would be what Mr. Bill would want.
With fondness for all,
Laurie

My condolences Laurie.  We'll all miss Bill.  I was thinking about him at the Cedar Vale campout this past weekend, and how I hadn't seen him in a couple years.

Yeah.  You should come to a campout this fall.  Lindale Texas might be the closest.  Then, there is always Talihina Oklahoma.  Both in October.

Bill was one of the fist Guzziti I met.  Greeted me like a long lost friend with a big goofy grin and handed me a big bowl of your fantastic pasta salad.  You would be welcome at any Guzzi gathering!

Take care and God Bless.

Friends of Bill,
Y'all are welcome to use the American Legion Post in Lindale for a memorial. I'm going to legion later today and stand in the spot that you camped at when you came to the Texas Rally.

This news hits me hard. Ken Hand aka Texas Turnip
