I never took advantage of all the good info I got from all ya'all about re-flashing my weak/non functioning regulator and just went and bought a brandy new one from my dealer. I got to thinking that even if the re-flash worked, the part is 18 years old and may crap out at any time.

(I know, no guarantee on electrical items)

But I installed it myself 😀 and now have plenty of juice to the battery ☺☺

Oh, and it is a Ducati part.

Whoever said that you could "reflash" a regulator was wrong anyone.
And your model rotor can't be "reflashed" either.

New regulator is usually the only fix.

I have reflashed a +ve earth system with a generator to turn it to -ve earth. (VERY carefully I might add!)  Do it with a solid state regulator on an alternator and I think you will end up with electrical constipation; it won't pass a current.
