New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
Also, very soon take care of the internal wiring issue with the stock aux lights. Many posts on here about that. The wires will short out and kill your motor by stopping the charging of your battery.
OP, I hope you get this sorted out soon.I would be sorely put out if my Norge were to shut down because of rain. I don't need a submersible bike, but I do need one that can handle inclement weather, including a lot of rain.
It can happen. I was riding at highway speed in Hungary a few years back when my Stelvio shut down. Rain the previous day got into the fwd fuse box. I also was shut down in new Mexico due to rain in the ecu. And, then again in Texas. I guess a Stelvio is not waterproof.(reporting from Barcelona where it isn't raining)
Any ideas ???
It's not a common thing on the Stelvio.I've had mine in water up near the valve covers and never had any issues. And that was before the technical update of the rubber boot they put on the ECU. I would suspect a crappy ground somewhere.
I had the dealer scan it yesterday and they came back with left and right coil code, they admit that's a very vague code but they don't have a solution. They have no fix for it and say it was likely the rain that caused it. WTF. Not impressed when the shop foreman says its a Guzzi thing and its common to get the odd random code. But holy crap, a bike just shutting down is dangerous as hell. This is obviously frustrating especially because its a new bike and I actually like the Stelvio better than any bike I've owned. If it happens again I will be taking this issue up the ladder to the owners of the dealership.
I've tried like hell to get that rubber boot. How did you obtain it?John Henry
A coil problem was one of my suspicions. Having both coils show a fault is weird. You may have a weak coil. However, I can't fathom why both coils would be a problem unless its wiring to or from both coils having an issue.Do you know if the dealer checked all the connections to the coils as well as the connection of the plug wires to the coils?Paging Guzzisteve....
I would remove fuel tank and look at wiring loom. Many on Stelvio's are smashed against the RH cap for timing chain tensioner.
