I'm also going to nit pick, "Happy" and "Memorial Day" are mutually exclusive terms, as least for those who lost brothers in combat. It is a very dark and somber occasion for most combat vets.
My dad and his four brothers who served in Europe never talked about the war. On Memorial Day it was a family gathering, but the five men would quietly gather together for a drink and a tear.
