Guzzi no longer supply the early type switch with the plastic 'Clip' connector and expect people to buy an adaptor and use the later switch. I know ITsec has made up a nice little conversion kit and thanks for that but in Oz you can get exactly the same switch as the original negating the need for any faffing about. Tridon TPS039 is the part# available at any 'Wottalottacrap Auto' type place.

Here it is again, available from Autozone for $10.99 USD   -   Duralast PS571



The only difference from the OEM oil sensor that I can see is that it takes a 24mm socket vs 21mm on the original.  OEM sensor shown on the left.

Excellent, tthat was the part you posted before I believe. I don't think we get the Duralast brand here hence my search for something else. Good info though, thanks.

For any bike that had the older nail-head style connector, they will still need to adapt the end of the wire. The older design used an L-boot with the slide-on clip inside it, which often led to issues with poor connections. The newer design sensor, whether with the shroud (as you showed) or without (as currently shipped by Piaggio) uses a male spade connector.

Tridon does sell products in North America, but the number you posted appears to be specific to AUS/NZ distribution. Duralast is a house label name held by Autozone, and used for parts they source from many different manufacturers (some very good, other, well...). Since the part they offer is made in Germany rather than (shall we say) China, I'd probably think it was from a source we'd recognize under its own name. If someone were to spend the time to research it, I suspect NAPA and other North American sources would have equivalent sensors. First step, find what cars take the sensor as sold by Autozone, then use that info to look up products from other sources.

The one I got was for Range Rover V8 from 2004-06 I believe.

In North America, that part is specific to the 2004 Range Rover V-8 (we don't always get the same engines, as you well know). I could find listings at Autozone (the part mentioned) and at O'Reilly (a BWD part, limited availability but listed). NAPA may have it, but they don't have that cross-reference.

So it looks to be not too hard to find, if you know what to look for... and now we do! Thanks to both of you!
