Almost as gut-wrenchingly beautiful as the Mk 1 Le Mans when that first appeared. Hope they make it.

Again...just someone's Photo Shop fantasy for now...  - but who knows?

Maybe the design will approach PIAGGIO and pitch it!

I agree also that a 1000 or 1200 is the motor they need!

But it's a very good photo shop fantasy. With the 1200 it would be great competition for the Thruxton R.

My money is on something like this showing up this fall At the big Eu show.

My question is will it be shaft or chain drive.  Guzzi has a long tradition with both.

I think it is going to happen.  Aprilia is surely not going to build anything so antiquated, won't fit with their image.  But Piaggio, as daft as they may be, realize there is a big retro market, and they have yet to tap into the sporting end of that market.

I see a 120hp machine looking something like this photo shop.  It won't be near cutting edge, but it will be more sporting than the Griso.  Has to have at least 120hp to make a splash, but as to motor 1200/1400 I have no intuition on what it could be.

And hey, this is only my speculation, like the rest of us I have no Bat Phone to Mendelo.

It would be a very good retro sport machine for us duffers, and not so sporty as to challenge the sport bikes from Aprillia.

And it could use up some parts from the CARC "experiment".  Which is right up Guzzi's alley.

Look, as long as they are keeping the basic architecture of the motor there is no way in the world you'll ever see anything close to 120hp at the rear wheel in 1200 or 1400cm2 form. Certainly not unless a lot of changes were made effectively making a *New* engine. The idea you could ever do this, even with significant changes, with the old pushrod donk, is not just laughable, it's idiotic. It simply can't flow enough air, end of story.

As for the Griso not being 'Sporty'? Sure it's got a long wheelbase and doesn't have clip ons. Believe me, a Griso can play with some fairly serious 'Big Boys' on the road and not go away hanging it's head in shame. It's the Guzzi way. Always has been until now.......

When I see leaked pictures of something interesting from Mandello I'll believe we haven't been relegated to turd-dom! Until then? Griso seems to be last in the line.

That's quite an old photoshop piece that has been making its rounds for a while now.

Nice job, though.

:1: just in what form do you expect the 2 valve to spit out 90 hp? Guzzi had 35 odd years to try it the best they did was 90hp at the crank.

Even considering its caustic ugliness one has to ask why would one produce, at considerable time and expense, that hideous excrecence bolted to the poor forks that would add heaps of unsprung weight simply so you could mount TWO obsolete brake calipers rather than just using a single half way modern one that will work many times better???

That's the thing with these cretins. They're too 'Clever' by half! I flick my gold plated boogers at them and fart in their general direction! Don't try and tell me it's 'Art'! It's not, it's onanism!

Oberdan Bezzi is a Photoshop Fantasy artist.

He has no relation to Piaggio or Moto Guzzi.

These are no different than the crayon motorcycle art you drew as a kid.

I never said it was going to be a 2v, I specifically said, as to motor 1200/1400 I have no intuition on what it could be.  It might be partial or full liquid cooling for all I know.  You guys need to read a little more carefully before jumping on a guys tail!

Also, I was referring to a claimed 120hp by Guzzi, this would not be RWHP, since MFG almost always quote at the crank.

As I said, the reason it will be 120 or more, is they need to be able to make a splash.  Putting out a sporty bike will be great, but it will sell better if they can claim a hp increase over the current Griso.

And finally Pete, I didn't say the Griso was not sporty, nor was I implying that it was anything close to a slug, I know and respect its abilities, I have ridden two 8v Griso, and a Stelvio, all of which had more sporting ability, than I had riding ability!   I'm just saying that I expect a new Griso replacement to be even a bit more sporty orientated, even if its only in appearance.

Chad, nobody is 'Jumping on your tail' but think about it. When was the last time Guzzi produced a 'Clean Sheet' design? 1977! That's when! Ever since that point there have been two model streams and model development has been evolutionary.

In a depressed and overall shrinking market there simply isn't the capital to throw at a clean sheet design, even with the might of Piaggio behind them. I mean not even Aprilia Moto has produced anything truly revolutionary for the best part of a decade!

There have been no sightings of prototypes and no rumours promulgated by the factory or their toadies in the press. Wishing for a fantasy isn't going to make it happen! Sad but true!

Also the viagra bike depicted in the original photoshop uses the 2V motor. That is why it was suggested that the presumptive power figures were laughable. You can't argue with the laws of physics!
