Back on a Stelvio... couple a questions...Rox Risers...

I just bought a 2014 Stelvio NTX, 3500 miles on the clock. Very excited about this. The original owner is a good friend, present here, he had purchased the NTX new and with the arthritis in his wrists discovered that he cannot operate the Guzzi for more than a few miles at a time, had to let it go.

 In place of the standard Trax cases this one is equipped with the Norge-like side cases. At first glance I did not get it but they are not as wide and I am used to the look and capacity having owned a Norge for three years and 45K miles back in '07...

 I had owned an '09 Stelvio while I was on the West Coast for work, shipped it home and sold it about a year ago and missed it ever since. So, enter the '14.

The '09 had been equipped with Rox Risers and narrower bars when I bought it from the fellow in Phoenix and I will need to do this to the '14. The bars are comically wide for my small reach and the risers will help sit me up a bit straighter. The angle for the wrists is perfect so I need to be selective regarding new, replacement bars.

I have no first hand knowledge of the brand of the bars however, I do recall the original owner telling me that they were SuperBike bars. Great, good start but again, the angle must match the existing.

So in looking at the Rox components available the Anti-Vibration model 1R-AV2PP is listed as 2" rise but the diameter is confusing to me. The web info lists the application for 1-1/8" bars. In measuring the Stelvio bars just outboard of the clamping area I get a dimension of 1.070" or 27.178 MM.

This is not even half of the .125" that equals 1/8"... What's up with that...? Can I be assured that this dimension in the Rox Risers will fit the '14 Stelvio..? I just find that fraction on the risers a bit odd... calling the bars 1-1/8" when they measure considerably less... Yes, I could be making too much of that.

I am also not certain that I need the Anti Vibration version, not sure that is actually needed...

Of course the ubiquitous question about cable and hose length for those have used the Rox 2" risers... Are we all set for the stock cables or do I need to change them...?

I guess that's it for now. Happy as it gets to be back on a Stelvio...!

I think they make an adjustable set also. Great question my new to me stelvio might have risers on the list of things I can waste money on!
 Rad...I had an 09 also, sold it... and missed it too much and bought a 2013 this month!

I have the anti-vibe ones on my Stelvio, that is the same part number I bought.  Look around the web though, I scored mine for 95$ shipped from some random bike accessory site.  You will have to reroute the cables though when using them though.  Not enough slack in the stock position.   You don't have to replace anything though.  I'll get some pics up later today, unless someone beats me to it.

Perfect,  just the info I was needing.   I will indeed poke around for the  best price.

Any info or images on the rerouting will be a help also, just so I can get it right without trial and error.

1 1/8" bars are aluminum fat bars.
It sounds like you have 1" bars

"Superbike" is a bend.  I've used K&N Superbike bars in the past, on a Triumph Sprint.

Probably the most economical choice will be Emgo brand, available at every big box bike store.  Also BikeMaster brand.

You'll find them in Chrome or Black.

Ahh, ok.  I'll head over to the local Parts Unlimited supplier when the risers arrive so that I can guess which width to go with, I know they have Bike Master products.  I sure wish I had the presence of mind to measure the ones on the '09 before it left here. 

I'll figure out how to make it comfy...
