If you're ok with a little re-wiring, it's definitely worth upgrading to a mosfet regulator. I learned this after going through 3 Ducati energia regulators

I bought the triumph kit and adapted the connectors from the factory regulator, my stator on the v7 was single phase so I had to cap one of the stator wires.

The Accel for the "big" evo motors work pretty well you'll loose the function of the charge light though.
