750 Breva seat
« on: July 02, 2016, 03:13:00 PM »
Does anyone have a recommendation for an aftermarket seat for a Breva 750?  I get a seriously sore behind now after about 100 miles, or less than 2 hours.  I have both low and high seats, same with both.  I used to be able to ride all day, but have lost so much padding in certain places that I need help.

At the Guzzi National I saw an Oregonian who has put a custom built Russel made in the US on his 750 Breva.    But you're in Europe, right?   750 Breva seats are not made soft new and I can still ride on mine comfortably all day just like my Corbin seats which are  similarly made the same way.   :undecided:

I too have an issue with the Breva 750 seat.  I find the scooped out shape gives me a sore tail bone after about an hour of riding.  It is not the firmness but the shape of the seat that bothers me.  I too have both the low and the standard seat and have found they both have the same issue.  The only relief I have found to date is a gel pad with a sheepskin over it.  I had a similar issue with the seat on my Honda Nt700V which was solved with a Corbin Dual Canyon seat. No Corbin available for the BB.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Maybe unllike you guys I lean forward some on my 750 Breva so my tailbone isn't bothered.   Maybe you guys have longer arms than me.  If I sat upright on the Breva it would bother me too.

I saw that custom Breva seat.  I wish I could afford to have Rich's do something like that for my Breva.  He did one for my Honda Rebel, that made all the difference.

In the mean time, I have a sheepskin on mine.  Helps a little bit, I'm thinking about adding some stiff memory foam underneath to umm...spread the load out a bit.  We took the long way home from the National....my backside was killing me after that 400 mile ride.

That and some lowered pegs will made the bike more rideable for me.

You might try contacting Jim at Ned's in River City Ia he does custom seats and very good at it. My wife and I , along with many others, had him modify our California's  seats,  he asked height weight inseam and what we wanted, and pretty much got what we wanted. Don't have his phone number or website here but you can google Ned's for contact info. Or you could go to the Iowa rally  next weekend and talk to him yourself

I tried a number of searches for Ned's in River City, IA without success.  If you, or anyone has an address or a link, I'd appreciate it.  Jurgen

I too have done that. Made a huge difference to the comfort. Have done 650kms and butt still feels ok.

I think your height/arm length makes a big difference. I lean forward slightly with a reasonably pronounced bend in the knee, which means no weight on the tail bone. I am 5' 7.1/4" tall (don't forget the 1/4"), any taller and I would be starting to alter things. As it is though the Breva is the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden.

I tried the Airhawk seat cushion on my V7 and it really made a difference.  The pressure points are gone, and after a few hours I can take it off and it's like being on a whole new seat.
The "R" model worked better than the standard one.
