Jackal Turn Signal Rear light fuse location

The turn signals nor my rear running lights are working on my 2000 Jackal.  Anyone have any ideas or know where the fuse(s) are (thery're not under the right side cover). Thanks in advance.  The bulbs are good.

 Check the connector plug under the seat . The only fuses are under the right side cover .

Thanks.  There are 2 connectors there for the rear lighting harness, a 2 pin and a 3 pin.  Not getting any voltage on any pins with the ignition on.

I haven't looked at the schematic, do that first..but from memory, there will be a broken solder connection at the switch.

 As chuck says , it could be a broken solder joint . Check for power at the fuse holders , don't remember which one powers the rear lights , but the outside of the holders are are the hot side . Also , check the harness around the steering head , located on the right side , two multi pin connectors . Pull the plastic side cover in front of the gas tank , they will be visible . Kiwi Roy will be along shortly with more detailed wiring info .

 Hmm , sounds like a bad relay , or a bad ground . The stock tail lights on these models are also suspect . The socket holders are plastic and will melt .

Bad ground or bad/melted sockets for the brake.  I have repaired about 40 sets and still have the jig to do them up correctly if you're interested.

Removed the right steering cover and found 3 multi-pin connectors.  What should I be looking for?  Also, checked and I have voltage to all fuses.

The rear light assembly (yes, it is a terrible design) has been replaced a year ago.

 Yeah , sorry 3 connectors . OK if you have power at all of the fuses , it is either a relay gone bad , or a broken wire between the relay and the connector under the seat . Or maybe a bad ground . Try moving the relays around , remembering where the 5 pin ones were located .

I think Chuck is right, a broken wire at the switch but check for power first on the bottom of fuse 2 (park lights and flashers), it comes there by way of the switch connector A


The switch is very easy to remove, look up from below you will see two Phillips screws holding the black switch block to the key mechanism, just take those out and leave the key part in-situ.
Fix the wires to the back cover of the switch so they don't flex adjacent to the solder joint.

You said you have power at all fuses
Are the front Flashers and small park lamp operating or turning on at least
Might be a missing ground at the tail-light, run a temporary ground from the engine back there see if they work
If that still doesn't work check for 12V on Fuse 2 again.

This is driving me nuts.  I appreciate everyone's help.  Just checked the relays and it just gets  nuttier.  Pulled two relays out and everything started working.  Tried swapping them but everything stopped again.  Put everything back the way it was and tried pulling a different relay and everything started working again.  Does it make any sense?

Hmmm. Strange. "which" relays pulled out make them work? That'll be at least a clue.

Clean the battery connections and the main ground connection.
I think pulling the relays is probably just a co-incidence.

Have you got 3 red wires on battery + (sometimes they put one on the starter solenoid hot terminal)

Start with all the relays out, you should have fuse 2, 3 & 4 with key on  Fuse 5 & 6 with key on or off
What are you using to test for power a meter or a light?

You should also have power on the top terminal (30) of all relays

1st I pulled the headlight and stand relays out.  After I put them back in I pulled the Ecu power relay out and everything work.  Just went and tried everything again and it doesn't matter what relays I pull out, the signals nor the rear running lights work.

It could be a bad main ground connection with a relay in it pulls the positive down
I say again, clean the battery terminals and main ground connection, it should be bolted to the gearbox

While it's not working measure the voltage between battery + and chassis
Then battery - and chassis

 Are you using the schematic on the inside of the side cover to identify the circuits . If so , my Jackal's info is wrong , and your's may be also, it took a while to sort that out on mine .

Are you by any chance switching the key off before pulling/inserting the relays, if so could be a bad contact there throwing you off, one time good, next time bad.

Going to try Roy's suggestions.   Using Roy's schematic.  I believe I have 3 reds to the battery +.  Turned the key off in between pulling the relays.  Also did it with leaving the key on.  Probably be the morning before I can post results.   Thanks again everyone.

I really think it's something very simple but elusive.
If you have a 12 Volt test lamp remove horn relay and plug it in the socket 30 to chassis
The lamp should come On whenever the key is On

Once you are happy with that jamb the light into fuse 2 socket with the fuse, again it should be On with the key.
