National Cycle Bag Brackets

I've had national cycle saddlebag brackets fabricated a little to install the bags. They sit too high for my liking and want them lowered to follow the flow of the fender. I think they look  best that way. Now here's my question, do I have to have the bracket re-fabricated to do this or would I be safe to do so by raising the hole in the bag to attach to bracket? Drilling the holes would be the easiest but worry that I might weaken the wall of the bag. Need some opinions please.

Make a reinforcing patch where you want the bag hole and drill through the bag.  I use a unibit like you'd use for sheet metal.  I then install a standard brass grommet for a bearing surface.

THANKS, I'll do that. I was thinking along those lines and needed that idea reinforced.

ABS glue is perfect for filling in the old holes and repair work.  Usually takes 24 hours to fully harden. I have repaired quite a few ABS items with great results.  Mike

Well, good advice but I think I'm going to have to pay for the bracket to be fabricated. I didn't do anything because the bag has a channel for the bracket to fit into and I've decided to not mess with that. Too much adjusting.
