I'm confused?
« on: August 03, 2016, 11:13:30 PM »
My dad and I worked on a car today. 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer to be exact. Replaced front struts, rear coil over shocks, inner and outer tie rod ends both sides, front brakes, and replaced a section of exhaust. Everything went exactly the way it was supposed to. It was way to easy. No stuck bolts, no broken bolts, no busted knuckles, very little arguing and swearing, and we didn't have to wait next day for extra parts. Have we just transcended into another plane of garage repair? I'm still very confused.

At my son's power steering business we have found overall that the Hyundai are the nicest to work on. Certainly, a lot more thought has gone in to the fact that people may well be working on them, and those people will have to work on them in the opposite way to which they were assembled.

Don't get me started on Volvos, BMWs and Mercs!

I had a job like that a month ago at work. I had a service order, it hadn't had the hours robbed by someone else booking to it, the parts were there, I didn't have to negotiate access to the area or wait for others to finish, it went in with no real issues or difficult access and got the testing done without anyone else's testing interfering with what I wanted to do.

It was such a change from the usual that yes, it stands out when it happens..........
