Yes, the huge jump bid was not done by computer. It would have been a directly-made bid. That was my point. Why would someone do that instead of setting up a programmed bid with a maximum of the higher number and let the ebay computer step the bidding up the ladder?I am a little skeptical.
What would happen if say two guys are bidding. Tom's max bid is $12K, and Jonathan tops that with $15K max to become the high bidder at $12,100. Then Tom says "oh yea?" and puts in a new high bid of $15K - SAME as Jonathan's. With two bidders now with a max of $15K, would it automatically jump up to that?
First person to set the $15K is the winner until the second bidder places a bid greater than $15K.
