New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
This morning, I woke up really early. I didn't mean to, but there I was at 4:30, wide awake. I tried to get back to sleep, but then said, "I can go for a ride!". I'm preparing to move in a month, and life has allowed for very little riding lately, so this was a good chance. Decided to ride down to Pemaquid, which makes for a very nice 2 hr ride. It was wonderful, empty road winding up and down, left and right through the early morning mist. At one point, about the furthest away from home I was going to get, I stopped to take in the view. While off the bike, I noticed that there was a little oil under the bike, and the whole engine was oily, couldn't see where it was coming format that point. It wasn't a lot, so I didn't worry about it then, but decided to be direct about going home. All went well until about 2 miles from home, when I noticed my left foot feeling very warm and slippery. There was oil EVERYWHERE! My oil pressure gauge was giving encouraging information, so I kept on as soothingly as I could, and got home, never seeing the oil light come on. At that point it was clear that it was the rubber oil line that goes to the cylinder heads. I replaced that two years ago, but at the time cheaper out and got the rubber one, not the stainless braided one. No damage done, but I feel lucky to have gotten home. This time, I'll spend the $50 for the good one!
