Suicide clutch needs the foot to depress the pedal to keep clutch out like a car. Normally there is no heel rest. I use the floorboard. When I built my Recon (reconstructed motorcycle), I originally ran the bike with a belt drive and suicide clutch. Not too much modulation on the pedal. Because of the hole shots I was doing, I wanted to put on a rock & roll pedal on it. The rock & roll clutch pedal has a heel rest and you could lock the clutch out.
This is helpful coming down to a stop. You can lock the clutch out then shift into neutral. I originally had a rock & roll pedal on. I wanted the option of electric start. I traded the the belt drive and put on stock cases with the starter motor and primary chain. I could only use the suicide clutch pedal but I could put floorboards on. The side cases and the floorboards make the bike wider. Great for leaving sparks when doing tight turns. When coming to a stop you have to shift into neutral before coming to a complete stop. You'll fall over if you don't or kill the engine. Not fun with traffic behind you and the electric start doesn't work. Kick-start only.
At this point, you have to go thru the starting drill for a hot engine.
